Tell Governor Hogan thank you for cutting pollution!

We won a major campaign at the end of the year, and it's time to say thank you!

In late December 2017, Governor Hogan adopted tougher limits on global warming pollution from power plants, joining eight other governors from both political parties. The new rules will cut pollution across the region by at least two-thirds below 2005 levels by 2030, and generate billions of dollars to fund important clean energy programs -- accelerating our transition away from dirty fuels like coal and gas.

This is an important step forward. Please thank Governor Hogan for taking action against pollution, and urge him to keep going!

Thank you for taking meaningful action to reduce pollution from power plants in 2017. I was happy to see that you joined eight of your fellow governors across the region in a bipartisan agreement to strengthen the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and accelerate our transition to clean energy.

I strongly support this step forward. It shows that we all can work together across party lines to cut pollution, clean our air and protect our communities from climate change. It also sets a powerful example to other states and countries who can follow our lead.

Please do more to cut pollution -- from power plants, from transportation and from industry. As you know, to avoid the worst effects of climate change, we have to eliminate global warming pollution globally within a matter of decades. Your ongoing leadership can help steer our state and the nation in the right direction.
